TREASURER’S REPORT 2022
This year, 2022, we were able to see a renewal of activity on The Masters Account as Covid19 seemed to no longer pose a threat to the hosting of outdoor sporting events. Our athletes now had a renewed purpose with the promise of both local and international meets, and we were now able to collect the annual membership fee, which is for the most part our only source of income. Payments were made as requested directly to the account held at First Citizen’s Bank.
Unfortunately, I have not received any statements for the year and as such, the report will be done as at 30th November, 2022 and based on the last balance provided to me by the former Treasurer. The opening balance of for 2022 was $29,655.85. A total of $2,990.00 was received for members’ subscription. An additional sum of $1,745.00 was received for the local Masters Meet held on May 20th, 2022 at The National Stadium. Also received, was a cheque in the amount of $75,000.00 from The Ministry of Sports, which was awarded to the athletes who competed in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Tampere, Finland in July of this year. For the eleven (11) months under review, the expenses amounted to $80,421.00 and this comprised $330.00 for statements + $75,000.00 to the Masters Athletes who travelled to Finland and $5,091.00 representing funds re-imbursed to members of the executive who would have utilized their own funds to pay suppliers on the day of the local meet. Based on these figures, cash in the bank should be in the amount of $28,969.85.
